The Call that started it All

We received "The Call" from our SW with World Child at 11:49 Sunday July 1, 2007. The caller ID stated Private Call, Jeff was hesitant to answer, but I said go ahead. Thank God he did because it was Jenny our SW telling us the great news. She said to get our Visas ready for arrival to Vietnam by July 12 or 13. She said we have a 95% chance of getting Gracie Monday July 16, 2007 at the Thai Nguyen orphanage. She instructed us not to get our airline tickets until she knew for sure of the G&R date(in Vietnam there is a Giving and Receiving ceremony which is the time Gracie is officially ours according to Vietnam.)

Now let the games begin. We sent off for our Visas on Monday July 2, 2007 and began the impatient waiting. Visas take an average of 4 days to arrive. We are now deciding on the Thank You gifts we will be giving to the nannies at the orphanages who took care of Gracie, the officials who do the paperwork to make this adoption possible, and the World Child staff in Vietnam who will help us make our appts., get us to our appts., and multiple other tasks to make this adoption easier.
